You may decide to revoke the SASSA Social Relief of Distress (SRD) Grant for a variety of reasons. One of them can be that you got a job or now have money coming in that you can use to cancel the grant. Whatever the situation, you can follow these instructions to revoke your SRD Grant.
How To Cancel Your SASSA R350 Grant Application:
⦁ Go to the SASSA SRD website: srd.sassa.gov.za/
⦁ Scroll down to the Cancel my Application tab.
⦁ Click on the yellow bar which says ‘click here to cancel online’.
⦁ Provide your ID number and mobile number, then click ‘send pin’.
⦁ You will receive an SMS with a 6 digit One Time Pin (OTP) number.
⦁ Client must insert the OTP number on the required field to verify pin.
⦁ Then click ‘cancel my grant’.
⦁ A message will pop up to ask if the applicant is sure about the cancellation of the grant.
⦁ Click yes to continue with the cancellation or click no to discard.
Simply phone or whatsapp the hotline if you need assistance at any point during the procedure. Make sure you have your ID number and the information you used to register just in case it is required.
Once this process is finished, you won’t get any more funding from SASSA until you restart it.
If you are receiving the SRD grant, you must let them know if your situation changes.
You may withdraw your application if your circumstances have changed to the point where you are no longer in need of or eligible for the Covid-19 Social Relief of Distress Grant.
Only electronic applications are accepted for the unique Covid-19 Social Relief of Distress Grant.
Once your application for the grant has been approved, SASSA will electronically and through a secure website request verification of your bank account.
Any applicant has the right to inquire about the source of the request in order to safeguard their privacy.
A food parcel or a voucher for food purchases may be supplied as part of the Social Relief of Distress. Some provinces offer this help in the form of money.
Social Relief of Distress is given for a short time as it is a temporary grant. The newest cycle of the grant will only last until March 2022.
